Hello to all near and far. We are going into our third month of 2013 and all is doing well.
Hopefully the flu season did not hit your area most here had a good winter. March and April will be here with the warm sun to make us all fee better. Busy Months On January 1st we celebrated New Year’s Day with a great luncheon. February 3rd was our Super Bowl party. February 12th was our Mardi Gras party with colorful beads, King Cake, and masks. On February 14th luncheon we celebrated Valentine day. Best of all was our 3rd High Tea on February 16th. Jan Truelove and Anne Hope Marvin hosted this very successful Tea. The theme for our High Tea was a salute to St. Valentine. We also displayed the talents of our gifted member from classes offered by Hines Senior Center. Music was provided by Ron Griffin (on the keyboard) singing by Zoe Walters and Reggie Barnes. The attendees’ of the Tea went home with door prizes. The prizes were provided by Walgreens, Wal-Mart, Jeanie’s Jewels, Island Tackle, Harris Teeter (flowers @ a discount), Harriet Owsley, and Debbie Price. Two Tea Quilts were raffled off. Winners of the hat contest was Margaret Dowling for the funniest and Sylvia Vild for the prettiest. Special thanks to all the servers, or hosts and our performers who help make this a special Saturday afternoon.

March 14th will be our St Patrick’s Day Lunch. Come and enjoy the traditional St. Patrick’s Day meal (corn
beef and cabbage) at 12 noon. We usually have a great showing so sign up or call if you plan to join us for
lunch.

2013 Dues Due
We are in a new year and if you haven’t paid your $10.00 yearly dues for 2013 please send or bring it in.
Thanks to all of you who have paid.

Lunch was provided on Feb 26th by Lake Shore Commons, they had a drawing for a week end stay at
their retirement home. Check them out for independent retirement living. Phone 910-251-0067

We have lots going on. Be sure to check dates on the calendar for classes that can help keep you
busy. Don’t forget the new crochet, Knitting and craft get together on Tuesdays.
